过去分词和现在分词 participle/participial，可以构成形容词，比如 interesting, amazing 和 interested， amazed

以前老师说，ing是修饰物， ed是修饰人
这个没有错，说的是大多数情况。但没有讲全。
我们可以这样理解：
ing表示的是主动的，一个进行的动作。可以比喻一个东西正在发光，处于一种动态中。向外扩散的一种情况。
可以想像金子是发光的。
向外发光。所以吸引人。所以我们说是ing。比如interesting, amazing, exciting
人或物都可以发光，
比如他是一个有趣的人。
he is interesting. 或 He is an interesting man
He is an amazing man， 表示人的外在特征，魅力四射。
这本书是有趣的。 或这是一本有趣的书
the book is interesting. 或 this is an interesting book
amazing和exciting也是这个道理，自己去想想。

再来说ed。它是被动的，表示向内的一种情况，更多是自己的一种感受。
比如我对这本书有兴趣。表示的是我的感受。我内在的感受。
I am interested in the book
物，一般不会用ed。除非是动物，因为动物也是有感情和感受的。

He is an interesting person（表示人）. His stories are interesting.（表示物）
He is an amazing cook
We are interested in him and his stories（表示人的感受feeling）

Jane is bored by his storeis.(人的感受) ....because his stories are boring.（描述物）
